Do you have a Photography Policy?
Yes we do! To learn more, please visit the Photography Policy page.
How do I find your farm?
Do not use Google Maps! It will bring you to the back of our farm. If you don’t see all of our activities from the road, you are not at the right place! Here is the address for your GPS: 13003 Creagerstown Rd Thurmont, MD 21788
Are dogs allowed?
We apologize but due to State regulations and insurance purposes, we are no longer allowed to have dogs on the farm. Thanks for understanding!
Do you allow alcohol or smoking on the farm?
We do our best to provide a family-friendly environment. Therefore, for the overall experience of our guests, we don’t allow alcohol on the property and smoking is only permitted in the parking lot. You may use your wristband to re-enter the farm if you choose to smoke in our parking lot.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes! All types are accepted. Checks are NOT accepted.
Are concessions available? May I bring my own food in?
Yes & yes.
Our concession stand has items such as Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Pulled Pork or Brisket Sandwiches, French Fries, Apple Cider donuts, Kettle Corn, Fresh lemonade, Hot or Cold Apple Cider, etc.
You are welcome to bring in your own food also! We have a picnic area in The Big Barn which is first come first serve.
Are hayrides to the pumpkin patch free?
You can take the hayride to the sunflower field or pumpkin patch for free and you just pay for the sunflowers or pumpkins you pick.
What does admission include?
Admission is $12 per person and 2 & under are free! You can enjoy hours of fun for the whole family! It includes over 25+ activities at the farm. Only activities that require an additional fee are: the apple cannon shots, sunflowers picked from the field and the pumpkins picked from the pumpkin patch.
Is the farm handicap accessible?
While we do everything we can so that everyone can enjoy the activities, unfortunately our farm is a working farm and some of the paths are uneven and dirt or stone. You have the option to drive a vehicle to the pumpkin patch! Some small strollers and wagons may have trouble in the corn field especially.
Is the farm owned by a bunch of attorneys?
You’d be surprised but we get this question a lot! The answer is no.
Our last name is “Lawyer”, hence “Lawyer’s Winterbrook Farm”.
The farm was started by our father Jan Lawyer who passed away in December 2013 after a long and hard battle against brain cancer. Lawyer’s farm is a full time hay farm. We make over 300 acres of hay in the spring, summer and fall and deliver to farms all over Maryland!
What is your weather policy?
Always check our Facebook page and home page of our website or call before visiting the farm if it has a chance of rain. We only completely close if it is pouring rain all day. Since some activities are outside, please dress for the weather. Wear old shoes and warm clothes! After rain, the field and grass areas can get muddy. Remember, it is your choice to visit our farm on days with possible inclement weather, therefore, we are not able to issue refunds once you have entered the farm.
What is your restroom situation?
As much as we’d like to have regular restrooms, we are a farm. We are only open 8 weekends of the year and we don’t have access to a sewer system to handle the visitors we get. Therefore, we have portable restrooms and we try to keep them as clean as possible! You also have a wristband that will get you entrance all day and there are fast food restaurants within a couple miles of the farm!
